Hey y’all! Fall has arrived and while ya may feel like curling up with a good book and snuggling after a long day…take it as an opportunity to stay strong and fit! We know, we know, bikini season is long gone, y’all. Hey, we get it! But as the days get alittle shorter and those holiday are creepin’ up on us, take this time to focus on building your stamina.
We’re talkin’ all about running a mile, Sweeties! Sounds kinda scary right? 1 whole mile! Don’t worry, Ashley from A. Will. Fitness is here and breakin’ it down for ya so you will go from your couch to running full speed ahead to running a mile in no time! First, a word from sweet Ashley…
Hey Sweeties!! Looking to build your cardiovascular endurance or step up your cardio routine? It can be very rewarding to watch your intensity, duration, or distance grow! It isn’t difficult to train yourself to run or even power walk a mile or more. Start slow, at a jog or fast pace walk. You can time yourself in intervals, 1 minute jog and 1 minute walk. Each day, lengthen your jog/ power walk time by 30 seconds. In no time you’ll be jogging throughout your entire cardio session.
Some important tips to follow would be to listen to your body, go at your own pace, start with a warm up lap and end with a cool down, and stretch! As always, hydration and proper nutrition are key to optimal body function!
Before you go off runnin’ take a peek at these tips to help you get started on the right foot.
- Give your body a good stretch!
- Listen to your favorite playlist
- Listen to your body-take it easy if you have some aches n’ pains
- Hydrate
Remember, the more you run, the more fluids that need to be replenished. Luckily, Southern Breeze Sweet Tea has a complete line of single serve cold brew tea bags that make perfectly brewed tea in minutes! Just toss a tea bag (the flavor is up to you!) in your tumbler of cold water and there ya have it!
Hello! My name is Ashley Williamson. I’m a mother of two, military spouse, and veteran, living my best life in the great state of Texas. I have overcome thyroid disease and chronic pain syndrome to transform from an over weight mom to bikini competitor in a few short years. I took that knowledge that I gained and become a certified personal trainer. I am now lucky enough to go to work every day managing a 30,000 square foot gym full of motivated people. I find joy in the small things, a nice walk outside, a workout with a friend, and a cold glass of calorie free sweet tea. Southern Breeze Sweet Tea is a staple in our house, especially when I’m preparing for a show. It’s so convenient and delicious, trust me, you’ll love it too!
