4 Sweet Tea Travel Hacks

4 Sweet Tea Travel Hacks

The weather is just gorgeous (though a biiiiit hot), kids are on a break from school, and you're dreaming of a vacation...so pack up your suitcase and head on out! We LOVE summer travel. It's the perfect time for road trips and flights to new and exciting places.

BUT we know that traveling can be super challenging! From long hours in the car to flight delays, culture shock, expenses, jet lag, and more, traveling comes with its own set of difficulties! We're sharing a few simple travel hacks to make your life easier...and sweeter! Because nothing makes life better than sweet tea. Y'all know we're right.

1. Beat the Homesickness

How many times do you go to a new place and feel a bit homesick? One of the BEST hacks to beat homesickness is to bring some familiarity to your routine! If you’re a Southern Breeze Sweetie, you probably have at least one glass of sugar-free sweet tea during the day. Sometimes it’s a way to kickstart your day, other times it’s dessert or a post-workout treat!

There’s no reason you can’t take your sweet tea on trips with you. That’s exactly why we made Cold Brew Sweet Tea - a tea bag that's conveniently wrapped in its own envelope! Plus, it only needs cold water and takes 5 minutes to brew! Just stick a few tea bags in your purse or backpack and get some cold water while you’re on-the-go.

2. Sweet Tea Station

Headed on a long road trip with friends or family? Travel in style and set up a beverage station in your car! It's super important to stay hydrated while traveling. Here’s what you need:

  • A box or basket to hold Cold Brew Sweet Tea tea bags
  • Bottled water (can be room temperature)
  • A cooler of ice (the size depends on available space in your car)
  • Lemon slices (cut these before the trip). Keep them in a container for freshness.
  • On-the-go mason jars or bottles with openings big enough for tea bags

Find a good spot in the car – a spot where at least one person can easily reach – and set up all the items. Make sure everyone knows where it is and restock the water when needed. When you’re three hours into the trip and you’re starting to get tired, grab a sweet, sugar-free treat!

Using the bottle water, brew up a tea bag in a mason jar or bottle. After 5 minutes, remove the tea bag and throw into a trash bag. Add ice and you’re ready for sweet sips! Garnish with some lemon slices for a fresh taste!

3. On-The-Go Mason Jars

Southern Breeze Sweet Tea Mason Jar

Y’all may have seen that we’ve changed up our mason jar design! A while back, we even had our Sweeties vote on our new design! While our quaint glass mason jars were lovely, we wanted to create something that y’all could take with you ANYWHERE! And we made the perfect on-the-go mason jar for you!

It’s tall and made from light plastic so it doesn’t add too much weight. Complete with a lid and straw for easy on-the-go sweet tea sipping, it’s also dishwasher-safe! Want to get your hands on one? We’ve got  a few…and we’ll be giving them away through upcoming promotions and giveaways! Here's a hint...we've got something special and mason jar-related coming up REALLY SOON!

4. Sweets on a Plane

Who’s a fan of flying? We are…sometimes. Tight quarters, long flights, travel delays and busy airports are NOT on our list of favorite things. But a glass or jar or bottle of ice cold sweet tea can make flying SO much better.

Keep an easy-to-use bottle or on-the-go mason jar with you while you travel. Empty it before security since you can’t go through with any liquids in it, then fill it up water before you board the plane! When you’re ready to enjoy some sweet tea and relax in your seat, just pop a Cold Brew Sweet Tea tea bag in for 5 minutes. We promise your neighbors are gonna be OH so jealous.

For longer flights, wait until the airplane hostess comes by with refreshments, then ask for a cup of water and a separate cup of ice. Brew up your sweet tea, then remove the tea bag and add ice! If you’re feeling REALLY sweet, you can even share tea bags with the people around you. That’s some Southern hospitality, y’all!

COMMENT below and tell us where y'all are traveling to this summer! We'd love to hear all about it! And don't forget to grab some Cold Brew Sweet Tea to bring the comforts of home with you!
