4 Ways To Stick To Your New Year's Resolutions
Welcome 2019 and welcome Sweeties! We are so glad to see ya! A new year brings a fresh start and brand spankin’ new beginnings. Resolutions always come with the new year and like most, you are wanting to set your eyes on the prize of achieving a new goal of the year! Yay!
We have a confession to make y’all. When it comes to new resolutions, we can use some help stickin’ to them. According to Forbes.com, only 8% individuals actually really stay with their resolution! That’s not good, Sweeties! That’s why we’ve come up with some ways for us all to accomplish our goals this year. If you have a resolution that you wanna stick to like us, you’re in luck! Step right up and take a peek at our 4 ways to stick to your New Year’s resolutions!
1) Start small:
We all want the stars, the sky, and the moon. The truth is that setting smaller goals may just be the recipe for success. Smaller goals are also the stepping stones to bigger goals too!
If your goal is to be healthier, start by taking a walk everyday during lunch, not starting by running a full marathon. Keeping smaller goals to start will help ya focus and accomplish the new things you want. Then you can build and go from there! See? Easy peasy. What little goal will you start with this year?
2) Write It Down:
Write it down and achieve it! That’s what we say y’all. Trying keeping a journal of your day to day to track your progress. Plus, going back and looking at your development is oh-so-rewarding. Not a journal type person? Put post-it notes around your home or in your office as an extra reminders. It will be your own personal cheering squad!
Speaking of cheering squad, once you write your resolution down, try talking about your goal with a friend, family member, or another supportive person. Saying your goals out loud will help give ya that oomph that you may need!
Try writing down some positive phrases or quotes to help you achieve your goal. We are loving these inspirational quotes!:
- “If you can dream it, you can do it.” —Walt Disney
- “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” —Eleanor Roosevelt
- “We aim above the mark to hit the mark.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson
3) Ask A Friend For Help:
It’s never bad to ask for help! Who could help ya better than a buddy, a pal, a partner, or a fellow sweetie? Asking for some help to stay on track never hurt anybody. Sharing your progess with a buddy is a wonderful way to help stay on track. PLUS, they may even have the same goal too!
Try looking into an app to help also. If your goal is to walk more during the day, download a step counter app to help measure your progress and success.
4) Celebrate The Little Things:
Remember y’all, celebrate along the way. There’s nothin’ wrong with giving yourself an “atta boy”… or gal! If you are venturing on to a new and exciting challenge, always give yourself a pat on the back for taking the next step-because any step is a big step when it comes to new ventures!
We recommend you treating yourself when a milestone has been met! A sweet tea toast anyone? That doesn’t mean throwing your progress out the window, but rather take a small break to celebrate. Stay motivated too.Making changes takes time and dedication so be kind to yourself!
