Fall Potpourri

Fall Potpourri

It’s fall time, Sweeties! It’s one of our most beloved times of the year: changing leaves, pumpkins, haystacks, cornstalks, casserole dishes…we can go on n’ on. Our love for this time of year is BIG y’all!

If you are like us, you’ve been spending more time at home this year. Let’s gather ‘round in the home,  because we are brewing up somethin’ extra special today! This time of year is about staying warm n’ cozy as the days get shorter and the brisk evenings come rolling in. Here at Southern Breeze, this got us thinkin’. How can we make the home smell oh-so-yummy like we spent the day makin’ a warm apple pie?

Homemade potpourri! This isn’t your average sweet tea recipe, y’all so don’t go on n’ sip this one (though you may really want to!). Potpourris are a warm pot of goodness that you can toss in just about any ingredients that you may have in your kitchen. If you have cinnamon on hand and some fruit..bam! You have an instant home deodorizer.

Toss in all the ingredients and let simmer on the stove. When all mixes together on a low setting, your home will be smellin’ like a freshly baked apple pie- that means it will smell deliciously cozy with a dash of spice. Place your pot on the back burner and let simmer on the lowest setting. Within minutes you will be enjoying the warm and comforting aroma.

Potpourri is great to make before guests arrive in your home, turn on for a day of cleaning, or if you’d like to get into the festive spirit of the season. The orange peels will add sweetness and the cinnamon will add in the warmth into the air, all while marinating with the sweet tea that will bring you all the comforts of home.
