Sweeties! We’re so glad y’all are here with us today as we get planning our most beloved yearly tradition: The Easter basket! It’s true, we’re feeling so blessed this season and to help get more into the spirit of Easter, we’re dreaming up the perfect traditional Southern Easter basket!

Folks have been gifting Easter baskets for centuries and centuries, can ya believe it?! We looove when baskets are more on the traditional side that include the simple joys in life-all wrapped up in a cute ‘lil bow of course! Join us as we chat about how to put together the perfect southern Easter basket that any bunny will enjoy! Grab some bright colored Easter grass and let’s get to the festive fun!

Eggs are Egg-cellent!:

We always start with eggs. When we think of this time of year, eggs come to mind first! That’s right, nothing says Easter than the mighty egg does! Eggs are everywhere around Easter time. Did ya know that eggs are the ancient symbol of life? You bet! Since springtime is the season of rebirth, make sure ya’ll include eggs in your Southern style basket. That means dyed hard-boiled eggs, plastic eggs filled with treats, chocolate eggs-YUM. OR include all of the above- the choice is yours, Sweeties! So fill ‘er up and don’t forget about the eggs!

 

Candy and Chocolate, oh my!:

AHH candy! Ya gotta love it. Halloween isn’t the only holiday that is all about the sweet stuff. Next to Halloween, Easter candy is the second best selling candy in the U.S of A! What would an Easter basket be without a sweet treat? Chocolate bunnies are a wonderful addition to tradition! Don’t forget about including classic jellybeans, marshmallow peeps, and coconut eggs too. Oh boy, oh boy, there are so many options! Watchin’ your sugar? Make sure you are pickin’ sugar free candy. OH! We almost forgot to mention that zero calorie Southern Breeze Sweet Tea also makes a wonderful addition to baskets.That’s right, so don’t forget to include family size and cold brew Southern Breeze in the mix.

 If ya have some space to fill in your basket, fill it up with even more fun items. That’s right! Use this opportunity to gift a favorite book, fun toy, or the latest gadget! Easter baskets can be filled with surprises of all kinds so get creative and get festive, Sweeties! Adding non-edible items is also a great idea if you are gifting a basket to someone who may be watching their calories or doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth. We recommend taking a trip to your local dollar store or discount store for the latest Easter themes items that are easy on your wallet too!

Now that ya have your basket is filled and lookin’ fabulous, add a fun bow, yarn, or ribbon to the handle and wrap it up with love! There you have it: a beautiful traditional Easter Basket.
