What is decaf tea?

Decaf iced tea can be a good option for those of y'all who enjoy the taste of sweet tea but are sensitive to caffeine or are trying to limit their caffeine intake. Decaf iced tea can still provide the refreshing and flavorful taste of tea y'all know and love but without the stimulating effects of caffeine.

Drinking decaf iced tea can also help to hydrate the body, as tea is primarily composed of water. Tea also contains antioxidants and other beneficial compounds that can promote overall health and well-being.

Does decaf tea have caffeine?

Decaf iced tea is made from tea leaves that have undergone a decaffeination process, which removes most of the caffeine from the leaves. Southern Breeze's decaffeinated tea contains <4 milligrams of caffeine per serving. Southern Breeze Sweet Tea's Decaf Family Size pack is made using decaf black tea leaves and decaf green tea leaves.

Why is decaffeination of tea and coffee gaining importance?

Decaffeination is gaining importance because many people want to drink their favorite beverages without the risk of caffeine-induced side effects, such as jitters, sleep disturbances, and headaches. Additionally, decaf coffee and tea are becoming increasingly more popular for people who want to enjoy the taste of coffee or tea without the high caffeine content.

What is the difference between decaf and caffeine-free?

Decaffeinated tea has had most of the caffeine removed from it but can still contain trace amounts. Caffeine-free tea, on the other hand, is completely free of caffeine. Herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free teas and can be served as a hot tea beverage or can be found as a cold infused option.

How much caffeine is there in iced tea compared to black tea?

The amount of caffeine in Southern Breeze's iced tea in comparison to a hot cup of black tea can vary depending on the type, strength, and steeping time of the tea. On average, a hot cup of black tea contains around 40-60 milligrams of caffeine per cup, while our iced tea contains about 30-60 milligrams of caffeine per cup.

Is decaffeinated tea good for your health?

Decaffeinated tea can be beneficial to your health. It is still rich in antioxidants, minerals, and other essential nutrients, and it can help improve digestion, reduce stress, and boost your immune system.

How is tea de-caffeinated?

Tea is typically decaffeinated through a process called solvent-based extraction. In this process, the tea leaves are soaked in a solvent called ethyl acetate to extract caffeine. After the solvent has done its job, the tea leaves are heated to evaporate off any remaining residue of the solvent.
