How to: DIY Herb Garden

Y’all know that we have a green thumb here at Southern Breeze. If you give us some plants, dirt, and a sprinkle of love, we can make crops plentiful! Now that we're knee deep into summer, the gardens can sure use some TLC from the strong Southern sun. Take this an opportunity to bring the garden in your home! We're sharing some neat ways you can grow as an herb garden free from the harsh heat.

Mason Jar Garden

We're always sayin’ to get your mason jars ready so this step is no different! Mason jars make an effective and unique home for plants. Add some fresh dirt in the jars and plant herbs like cilantro, mint, and basil in them. Place them in your window sill, on bookshelves, or on the side tables. OH, we must mention that mason jars are a great space saver too so you can have as many herbs around as your little heart desires.

Let ‘Em Hang

Sweeties, make your indoor garden decorative. If you have hanging plants in your home, hanging herbs is no different. Make sure your plants have good sunlight so they can grow and thrive. We suggest hanging them near windows so the sun can really shine through! Herbs like basil need lots of water so make sure your herbs are getting’ their thirst quenched! If the soil is dry to the touch, sprinkle that soil with some of that H20 so the herbs can grow, grow, grow!

How's this sounding? You can do all of this without breaking a sweat but you may work up a thirst...so have your mason jar of Southern Breeze nearby! Happy planting!
