Easy Summer Getaways

Easy Summer Getaways

Sweeties, who doesn’t love a wonderful summer getaway? When the summer months hit, we believe in working hard during the week to play even harder during the weekends...or extra long weekends! When Fridays come a knockin' we're itchin' to hit the highway and go to an easy peasy summer escape with the family.

Just picture packin’ up the bags, hopping into the car with your loved ones, and cruising down the highway for some togetherness. That makes us oh-so-happy an excited! It’s not only the family time that is wonderful, it’s also a great excuse to let your hair down and step away from the everyday hustle! Stepping away from the norm doesn’t have to be an expensive or extravagant trip, Sweeties. We love the idea of savin’ money and a day or evening out for the cost of only a few dollars, well you can sign us up! If you’re dreamin’ of skipping town soon, we have a little list for you to consider when makin’ your plans. Here are our summertime favorite easy summer getaways that we know y’all will enjoy!

Go to the beach:

What says "summer fun" more than the beach! This summer activity makes it on the top of our list, y'all. If you are lucky enough to live on the coast, take it as an opportunity to spend a day or two on the sand! Bring the kids, sun block (don’t forget to protect your skin!), your beach chair and sit n’ listen to the sound of the ocean. That sounds oh-so-good to us! No beach? No problem-o! Visit a local lake or pool for splashin' 'round fun! Water fun is our favorite recipe for summer fun. It also helps keep everyone active and refreshed too. What do you just looooove about water fun?

Visit a farm:

We know, we know, going to a farm on a hot n' steamy day doesn't sound like a good idea for hot weather fun... But guess what, Sweeties, visiting a farm when the days are nice is a lovely way to spend some quality time together! Have a farm close by? Grab the family and head on over and make a day out of it! Pick some fruit out in the fields, feed the farm animals, and enjoy the fresh air, and sunshine. Enjoy pony rides, corn mazes, and fresh baked pies too! Pick some peaches, corn, strawberries, summer squash, the list goes on and on. Keep the family bonding going by cookin' up the goods you picked for supper. Some farms actually have family events. Just picture a summertime hayride under the stars or spending the evening listening to a country band play live! We hope you brought your dancin’ shoes!

Have a picnic:

Pack up the family and go on a picnic. Try picking a place that is a little further away from your normal routine. Always drive past a lovely park on your way home from work or always wanted to visit that beautiful field of flowers that is an hour away? Now is the time to go and pay it a visit it! Pack some lunch, a blanket, some fun games, and maybe a book to read and there you have a lovely time away from your everyday routine. It’s nice to stop n’ smell the roses, y’all!

Visit relatives:

Summer is also a wonderful time to slow down and take it easy. If you have some family that may live further away from you, how about making a trip out of it to go visit them? Fun idea, huh? Create family time by having a cookout or a bonfire. Have a porch party or a spend the evening playing classics like flashlight tag. How fun would that be?! This would be an opportunity to rent an RV or camper for your travels. Skip the expensive airplane ride and sail away in a family size RV for an exciting adventure. Really cherish these moments with your family, y’all!

No matter what your travel style, always make sure that you sip sweetly and guilt free. Take Southern Breeze cold brew along for the ride and on your getaway. Our individually wrapped tea bags are a great travel partner and will help keep ya cool, calm, and hydrated all summer long. What else do you have planned for the rest of summer, y’all? Now is the time to check your getaway off your list before summer slips away! We’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Happy Summer, y’all!
