One task on the top of our to-do-list this year, is spring cleaning. Sure, the task of cleaning can be oh-so-boring but this year, we are adding some freshness to your springtime chores. Today, we’re sharing our Homemade Springtime Potpourri Recipe.
Our Homemade Springtime Potpourri Recipe is a simple way to deodorize your home and add some freshness. Open all the windows to the home, let the fresh air in and fill the home with the sweet and comforting smells of lemon, lavender, and berry! Can’t ya small it already?
What is Potpourri?
You may be asking, what is potpourri? Let us us break it down for ya, Sweetie! Potpourri is a combination of dried petals, flowers and spices placed in a bowl or small sack to freshen clothing, a closet or even a whole room.
What is Stove Top Potpourri?
Stove top potpourris are a warm pot of goodness that you can toss in just about any ingredients you may have in your kitchen. Simmer on the stove or break out the crock pot. These pots of goodness are often made around the holidays or to match the season.
How Long Will Stove Top Potpourri Last?
Once started, you can usually get several hours of intensely wonderful smells, but scents may last up to 4 days! How wonderful is that Sweetie?
Can You Reuse Stove Top Potpourri?
Yes, you can reuse your stove top potpourri throughout the week. Store your potpourri mixture in the fridge and reheat on the stove or in your crock pot. Add some fresh water and if needed, refresh your ingredients.
How to Make Stove Top Potpourri
All ya need on hand is a large pot or a crock pot, lemons, some sweet Southern Breeze Sweet Tea, water, vanilla extract and maybe a few other items. Add the ingredients into your pot and put in on a simmer on the back burner for a few hours and before you know it you’ll have a great smelling recipe filling your home.

Ingredients:
- 2 quarts of water
- 2 Raspberry Southern Breeze family size tea bags
- 1 Sliced lemon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Optional: mint leaves
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a large pot
- Place the pan under medium/high heat on the stovetop until it begins to boil. Reduce heat to low and allow it to simmer.
